How to Stop Your Dog Biting Metal Crate Bars – A Safe Alternative
Matthew Rodwell

We've seen it too often, dogs chewing on metal bars, hurting their teeth and paws. It's stressful for both dogs and owners. It happened to us with our Puggle, Jackson.

We didn't want that to ever happen again, so for our next puppy, Pixie the Chihuahua, we designed PetPen. We felt it was too good to keep to ourselves, so we started our little business. Since sharing our story, it's been saddening to hear how common this really is.

Why dogs bite bars

  • Anxiety or boredom
  • Frustration from confinement
  • Lack of comfort or den-like feel in traditional cages

Our solution: PetPen

PetPen gives dogs a safe alternative:

  • Bar-free design → no teeth injuries
  • Comfortable, calm safe space
  • Encourages dogs to enjoy their space instead of fighting it

"We love our PetPen! We get so many requests for where we got it from"
"Much better than the crates with bars, the clear doors make it easy for the dog to see out and owners to see in".
